About Me

I strongly believe a good facilitator uses tools and activities well but a great facilitator must do four critical things:

Invest in learning about the client’s context, aspirations and needs

Listen deeply and create a safe learning environment

Ask powerful questions to create breakthrough moments

Accompany the client on their learning journey

With over two decades in the global social impact sector, I had the opportunity to work with teams, communities and organizations solving complex social problems.

These learning journeys helped me understand organization building challenges as well as programmatic gaps in diverse contexts such as youth leadership in rural India, designing employability and skilling programs, teaching facilitation to groups of educators, professors, climate campaigners and program leaders, working closely with young entrepreneurs in strengthening their product development, advisory roles in developing blended learning models to scale impact and more.

In two decades, I repeatedly noticed that trainings and workshops can help teams understand a concept, feel motivated by frameworks and case studies, find peer networks with shared needs and struggles - all of which are important - but I was curious about what changed in their everyday interactions with stakeholders, how a strategy was adopted, how a program was delivered and finally, what these experiences meant for the individual on the dance floor.

In my journey I have  worked with C-suite leaders, country directors of global organizations,  upskilled passionate and gritty campaigners and facilitated teams for greater strategic cohesion and culture building.

Testimonials

Danny Hutley

Former Director of Learning & Analytics, the Change.org Foundation

"Working with Shalini is a dream. She produced an excellent, insightful and practical 'playbook' for staff who were transitioning their offline training work online. But more than this - she was a thought partner from the inception of the project, challenging our assumptions about what we needed and finding ways to open up our thinking. The result was a piece of collaborative content that transformed the way staff worked. And an inspiration in organisational transformation for staff to look to.”
